Thrust Vector Lore - Akroma's Archangels[AKA]
A vector belonging to Akroma’s Archangels deploys countermeasures during a Raid on the Syndicate City of Lenniburg
The Akroma’s Archangels finds its roots in one of the final battles of the Exodus War. As the stories are told, an entire division of elite vector pilots defected to the city of Akroma after a extermination order was issued for the then seventy thousand civilian inhabitants. From that point forward, Akroma disappeared into the sky without a single trace, the now independent state being under the protection of the Archangels.
Since that fateful battle, the City of Akroma has been shrouded in mystery. For the past two hundred years, both the Consortium and Syndicate have never been able to interact or even detect the rogue nation. It’s existence is built upon rumor and legend, with blurry photos and wild tales of an undiscovered City situated deep within thick storm clouds arising almost every month from civilian shipping lanes and deep layer salvagers.
However, this mystery does not come with disbelief. Because as much as Akroma’s existence is difficult to ascertain, the existence of the Akroma’s Archangels is very much real. Their raids upon cities and shipping vessels are swift and exact, with collateral damage kept to a minimum and resources taken maximized. It is theorized that these raids upon random targets are done to either resupply Akroma in desperate times or perhaps drive ignorant craft away from the city. Nonetheless, there is one known variable in their attacks: no target is safe. With incredible vector tech and awe inspiring piloting skill, the Archangels are able to take on almost any force thrown at them. For this reason, it is considered much safer to bargain with this miliary branch of Akroma than any other “pirate” faction. With the materials and technologies they require exchanged for safe passage and sometimes more tangible currency in the form of Earth-Tech or the rare Keb. Though, it is commonly considered to be an honor for civilian captains to be able to donate to Akroma’s vector teams without compensation, citing the opportunity to be part of one of the greatest urban legends of the sky.
Today, Akroma and her Archangels are still as cryptic as before. The lost city in the sky bringing wonder as tales are told of grand technology from a lost era still exploited and developed upon in secret. And somehow, in a time of crowded heavens, the city remains hidden and undetectable. Whether this is due to incredible technologies, skilled positioning, or sheer luck is unknown. But one thing is for certain, this forbidden city and her guardian angels will continue to soar, isolated among a shattered sky torn with war.
