Thrust Vector Lore - The Syndicate
The Syndicate Capital of Xin Sheng
Habitation Block 31
The Syndicate, like the Consortium, is merely a united amalgamation of City States.
And, just like the Consortium, these centuries old documents that tie the journeying cities together is respected even to the current date.
However, the similarities of these major powers end at this.
Governed by a group of officials, collectively called “The Council”, led by a single leader known as “The Elector”, the governing body of the Syndicate wields total control over the cities underneath them.
The regulations regarding the usage of the military in terms of governance from the Council and Elector are well followed, and most of their power comes from the cultural ties that bind the nation together instead of military force. The culture and concept: that the power of the State is working towards the best for the individual citizen, permeates across the platforms of the Red Nation, one that is perhaps true.
A leader in the Syndicate is considered the most honored yet dangerous position in the upper echelons of governance. With assassinations common especially within the Council as perpetrators believe their own ideals better to the people than others. A lofty position that is not the Elector is almost guaranteed to be deadly.
Despite the risks however, individuals still attempt to ascend; in their eyes a sense of duty and purpose hard found in the Consortium.
But for as much credit the Governing Bodies of the Syndicate receives, its military prowess should not be underestimated.
Controlled directly from the Elector, and in extension the Council, the Syndicate Armed Forces is ruthless and efficient in their actions. Surgical, well planned strikes are common over a full scale assault, which is shown through the technologies they employ in their vectors.
With an obvious preference for speed and large weaponry, Syndicate Vector teams are better known for hit and run tactics: the weakening of targets for their slower naval forces to take down fully.
Therefore, a major strategy against Syndicate Forces are the constant rotation of target vessels: to continuously spread damage between warships as to minimize a hostile Navy’s ability to focus down a single weakened target.
At war with the Consortium since before the Exodus War, the Syndicate and her counterpart have grown both similar and different in the following centuries. Culturally, the embargo of trade and information have given rise to the black market exchange of fenced goods and whispered rumors. With the people of the Syndicate developing a strange awe towards the massive markets and resources of the Consortium, yet retaining a fear of their brutal militaristic values.
In this modern world, there are only two collective nations: the Consortium and the Syndicate. The balance of power locked in an endless stalemate yet peace is such an impossibility it isn’t even a consideration.
For the Syndicate and her city states, it is the only way of life.
And probably will be for a long time.
