The Future of Low Orbital Warfare

Hey everyone,

It’s been a while hasn’t it? I think to the tee it’s been nearly seven months since Low Orbital Warfare received its latest chapter update; with Task Force 31 stuck mid combat operation. So I guess the big question is simple: what the hell happened?!

Well, that’s a story in of itself that can basically be defined down to a mixture of circumstance, life, and a little bit of burnout. I’ll try and explain, if not just to go through the motions, but in reality this post is mostly for the purposes of updating any reader still interested in seeing where Low Orbital Warfare is going.

First and foremost, if you weren’t aware, I am currently a student within a technical/scientific field and well… such a field requires a lot of time commitment. And given the past few months were spent simply surviving the physical and mental fallout of both a global pandemic while going through one of the most rigorous academic years in the American Education system, there was not a lot of time in-between for writing.

But, coupled with that, life is really a bitch sometimes. I lost a very personal friend over the course of these past few months to a terminal illness. One of my major goals of Low Orbital Warfare was actually to finish the entire thing before his passing. But well, that didn’t happen.

And finally; Low Orbital Warfare got really fucking big really fucking quick. Initially I planned it out to be a fast 40,000 word novella with just a short intro to the orbital space faring civilization of the 2070s(and big things blowing up in zero-G). But looking back, we’re sitting at about 45,000-50,000 words currently and just about maybe 60% of the way through the main story. To say that it got a little out of hand is cutting it short.

All of that being said: I am still looking to continue the series. Though, there will be some changes:

  1. Full rewrite

Low Orbital Warfare’s plot and universe is a mess. I’ve consolidated the entire thing back together and will probably start from the top to maintain some coherency to the story.

  1. New Site

After some consideration, Low Orbital Warfare will shift platforms. Although I’ve used this blog for a long time(you can even read my previous novel here), I think a better UI and analytics will go a long way in saving some of my sanity. Check out Low Orbital Warfare on Royalroad.com(I’ll update the link here once the moderators there clear it)

  1. Boundary: LOW ORBITAL WARFARE

Now that boundary’s about to get a beta release and hopefully a full release(please don’t die like Titanfall 2), I’ll try and integrate a bit more lore into the story.

But with all that said, hope you stick around for much more interesting things to come! Stay safe, stay healthy, and see y’all in low orbit!

Oh and one last thing! New cover page:
